UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Part-time Counselor Social Worker 2 to join our School Based Health Clinics located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This position is a 10-month (August 2025 - May 2026) 0.8 FTE (32 hours a week) opportunity. As part of our integrated services, this position will provide therapy services to students attending APS schools. Will work with a team that will include, case management, medical provider, medical assistants and psychiatry fellows. Experience with adolescent aged children will be a plus. Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4pm
Minimum $54,631 - Midpoint $68,280
*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.
*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.
Summary
Provides, oversees, and/or administers a wide range of psychosocial evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, counseling therapy, crisis intervention, and/or case management services in a high-intensity clinical environment which requires a high degree of independent decision-making and program administration. Leads and trains lower level counselors/social workers, students, and/or interns engaged in related therapeutic/patient care activities, as appropriate to the individual position.
Minimum Job Requirements of a Counselor Social Worker 2:
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related degree with 1 year directly related experience. Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) OR Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) OR Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure pending, as documented by temporary license. BLS certification required. Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure will be required if selected for hire.

The School-Based Health Center Program provides services in 7 Albuquerque Public Schools.
The UNM School-Based Health Center (SBHC) program is co-sponsored by the UNM Medical Group and UNM Health Sciences Center. SBHC facilitates and supports schools, families and communities in addressing the social, physical and emotional needs of students so they can reach their full potential.
SBHC connects students to a larger health care system that can serve as a medical home, offering lifelong health care. SBHC providers focus on preventive health care and educating students on healthy lifestyle choices. Our goal is to enhance healthy youth development and reduce barriers to learning.
