The UNM Medical Group, Inc is seeking an Full-time Patient Services Coordinator to work in our Patient Financial Services Department of the UNM Cancer Center.
Minimum $35,692 - Midpoint $44,616*
*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.
*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.
This position is critical to the overall success of the department by meeting established job requirements and performance goals in a very demanding and high producing clinic environment all while addressing and meetings the needs of the patients and/or physician’s.
**Preferred but not required: Knowledge of IDX and/or Soarian billing systems Payment and adjustment processes Knowledge of rules governing primary/secondary Insurance Knowledge of working denied Services.
Summary
This individual will perform a variety of prior authorizations, denials, financial counseling, and activities which require a range of skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail and key entry accuracy. Will also be required to cross train and provide support to other positions within the Patient Financial Services Division.
Minimum Job Requirements of a Patient Services Coordinator:
High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of directly related experience acquired working in a medical environment. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirements may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.
