Clinic Data Analyst

UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Clinic Data Analyst to join our Clinical Operations Group. This opportunity is a full-time day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

 

Summary

Under limited supervision, provides management and analysis of clinical and/or claims related healthcare data with the goal of assessing utilization, controlling costs, and measuring the quality of care provided. Participates in research and analysis of operational issues, as appropriate, and provides or participates in problem resolution. Provides day-to-day guidance to various departments on operational procedure and best practices. Reviews documentation to ensure data integrity and quality of production.

 

Minimum Job Requirements of a Clinic Data Analyst:

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of a Clinic Data Analyst: 

  1. Aggregates and performs statistical analysis on healthcare data based on requests from project teams or senior leadership.
  2. Coordinates the collection of data from disparate sources (claims, medical records, lab results, etc.).
  3. Ensures data accuracy and integrity and assists project sponsors in identifying relevant data sets.
  4. Analyzes and interprets data to quantify clinical plan, program, or provider effectiveness and performance, financially and in terms of patient/population outcomes.
  5. Writes queries or reports to provide data for various analytical projects.
  6. Consults with internal customers regarding various transactions; troubleshoots issues and identifies client's business needs.
  7. Suggests process or practice improvements, tracks implementation, and reports on progress.
  8. Develops and conducts or participates in specialized presentations and training, as appropriate, covering operational and technical related information.
  9. Creates and presents complex ad hoc data analyses and reports, as appropriate; identifies errors and deficiencies and makes process improvement recommendations.
  10. Develops and modifies procedures, systems, and documentation, as appropriate to the development of best practices within the organization.
  11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
